A long first liaison, leaving the buzz of Buenos Aires behind and heading for the plains and tracks of one of the longest first stages in Dakar history(one clear benefit of the South American location).

Whilst there are some technical sections, open plains will allow for overtaking, so it will be a stage that favours the brave and punishes the foolish.

Cars with high top speeds will be able to take an early advantage. Another liaison at the end of the stage will make for a long first day.
